Travelers in history did not have comfortable transportation facilities as in our age. Some of the roads were eroded by horseback, some by sea and some by walking in difficult conditions. Despite many epidemics that changed the course of human history, discoveries continued and each era was reshaped with these discoveries. People who pioneered the developments that shaped the ages in many fields such as trade, invasion, science, art, religion, geography, philosophy, language, nature, culture and medicine were travelers in history. Though some have hit the road as secret agents of certain empires or states, their adventurous travel continues to inspire modern-day travelers.
